The BBC is focussing on Cathedrals across the UK as part of a project called The People's Passion. On Sunday 25th March, the series began on BBC Wiltshire with Soul & Inspiration looking at prayer. Bishop Nicholas talked about the importance of taking time out to pray on every occasion and also about why he spent so much time praying as he entered Salisbury Cathedral on the day of his enthronement last October.

Head teachers wishing to undertake research into either RE or values education are also eligible to apply. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition, essential local travel and, by negotiation with the school, the salary of a replacement teacher up to point 6 of the main pay scale. Each scholarship lasts for a maximum of 30 days and can either be taken at a local university (Farmington has links with 15 throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) or can be home-based with a local tutor. The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT)
The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) has grants available to support vulnerable children in the Diocese of Salisbury and all other dioceses across the UK. Their education grants provide funding for specialist tutorial support, learning tools, school uniform and travel costs to college. Their wellbeing grants provide practical support to children experiencing a wide range of issues such as illness, disabilities, behavioural and psychological problems. -
