"It is all about issuing the invitation of Jesus Christ to follow him. And that is an invitation which is issued to all."

Evangelism is an important aspect of the work of the Diocese. Initiatives taking place around the Diocese include:
Alpha Courses
Alpha has been running for well over 20 years and has spread around the globe under the leadership of Nicky Gumbel from Holy Trinity, Brompton.
Around a central meal, the Alpha course explores the basics of Christianity by means of a short presentation followed by small group discussions. Towards the end of the course, participants are invited to gather for a day or even a weekend to reflect and build on what they have learnt.

Church planting
Church planting is a process that results in a new, local Christian church being established. Click here for our Diocesan Policy on Church Planting, approved by Diocesan Synod in November 2016.
Christians from Persian backgrounds
A growing number of people from Muslim backgrounds in Iran and neighbouring regions like Dari-speaking parts of Afghanistan and Kurdish parts of Iraq are attending Church of England Churches. The same phenomenon is seen in other denominations and right across Europe. If there is a Persian presence in your church, please fill in this questionnaire and return it by e-mail to the Revd Dr Tom Wilson.
Fresh Expressions of Church and Pioneer Ministry
The Fresh Expressions website has links to all areas of its work and many resources including Pioneer Ministry. The Diocese of Salisbury’s Learning for Discipleship and Ministry Team can also provide further advice for anyone considering Pioneer Ministry.
