Putting the '40' in '140th' in West Moors
Geraldine Cole reports from St Mary the Virgin, West Moors, Dorset.
The West Moors (Evening Group) of the Mothers’ Union held a very special 10am Eucharist at St Mary the Virgin on Sunday 18 September.
Guest of Honour was our Diocesan President, Rosie Stiven, together with past members, present members and the congregation to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of this Mothers’ Union Group which co-incided with the 140th Anniversary this year of the Mothers’ Union.
Rosie presented a very interesting talk on the Mothers’ Union projects and highlighted the effects of where our hard fundraising monies go both home and abroad.
Rosie awarded long-term Certificates to more than 10 members. They were invited and photographed with our President at the end of the service. Guests enjoyed a buffet lunch with a special celebration cake.
The event concluded with a sit down 3 course celebration meal the following evening which was very much enjoyed by MU members past and present of the Group.
