Happy New Year from Mothers’ Union
The latest blog from Diocesan President Rosie Stiven features Virtual Babies!
With 2018 well underway, doesn’t Christmas seem such a long time ago? I hope all the decorations have been put away safely because from now on, it’s on with our theme for 2018 ‘In Mary Sumner’s Footsteps’. That’s a tough challenge in anyone’s book and so, refreshed and re-charged – onwards we go!
Talking about re-charging - someone has been busy doing just that. As you can see from the photographs, Laura Kachale, our Community Development Coordinator, already has her hands full with our Virtual Babies! She assures me that they have all had a very good Christmas and are now fully re-charged and ready to go on to their next school, courtesy of the staff and pupils of Sarum Academy.
INFO NOTE: What are Virtual Babies? They are lifelike dolls which are programmed to cry, sleep and wet their nappies. They mimic the behaviour of a young baby needing to be fed, burped, changed, rocked and cared for. They give a very clear idea on what it takes to care for a newborn!
Well done, Laura, in getting all your very young team together and prepared for the start of the new term. We wish all involved with this project at Sarum Academy a very useful and informative time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few important dates which are coming up in the near future – so have your nice new diaries to hand, please.
