The Bishop of Salisbury, Nicholas Holtam, will discuss the key elements of successful, growing churches at a gathering of over 100 representatives from parishes across Dorset and Wiltshire. The Diocesan Synod takes place at St Paul’s Church, Salisbury on Tuesday 19 June (6.30-9pm).
Historic Church Trail for Olympic Visitors
The Bishop of Sherborne, Dr Graham Kings, will lead a two-part service at Whitchurch Canonicorum and the nearby Healing Well on Sunday 1 July (beginning 10am) and travel the route of ‘Seeking Gold’, a new Pilgrimage trail in Dorset celebrating the 2012 Olympic Games.
£100K for Innovative Church Project
Poole Missional Communities, a Christian community project, has been awarded £100,000 by the Archbishops’ Spending Task Group for its success in developing church growth in a deprived area.
Torch Relay Resources on YouTube
The Church of England in Dorset and Wiltshire has produced a set of YouTube resources for use in churches, schools and community groups. The nine short clips were filmed during the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.
