Torch Relay Resources on YouTube

by Michael Ford last modified 06 Oct, 2017 11:19 AM

The Church of England in Dorset and Wiltshire has produced a set of YouTube resources for use in churches, schools and community groups. The nine short clips were filmed during the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.

Footage includes Torchbearers running through parishes, as well as themed clips with topics such as ‘Values’, ‘Enthusiasm' and 'Determination’.

The Bishop of Sherborne, Dr Graham Kings, said, “YouTube and other social media are excellent ways for the Diocese to connect creatively with the wider world. These timely, lively clips are very accessible and a great encouragement to our parishes and schools to be fully involved in celebrating the Olympic Games.”

He added, “They provide an excellent starting point to discuss the meaning of the Olympics for us and for the nation. I thoroughly commend them.”

More clips are planned when the Torch Relay returns in July.
