Guidance for Faculty (Amendment) Rules 2022

The recent amendments to the faculty rules come into force on 1 July. One element of the amendment is the introduction of the parish to have due regard to advice from the Church Buildings Council on net-zero carbon. There is a list of the core net-zero carbon guidance required to fulfil the requirement to have ‘due regard’ to it. This is here on ChurchCare. To make the rules workable this section highlights core documents that must be given due consideration when they are relevant. There is plenty more helpful guidance on the net-zero carbon church page

Heating Guidance From The Church Buildings Council

The Church Buildings Council has added another 3 sections to their heating guidance. The guidance includes advice that will help a church consider its existing installation as well as guidance for parishes looking for new heating at a time when the church is seeking to reduce its carbon footprint.
