2015 regulations regarding who can administer Holy Communion

New regulations came into force on 1 October 2015, to allow the authorising of children who have been confirmed to administer Holy Communion. Any such scheme would have to be authorised by the Bishop. In parishes, the PCC need to agree. In schools, the Headteacher needs to agree.

Make a Mother's Day

The Mothers’ Union has a dedicated website with resources for family services, children’s activities and fundraising ideas as well as prayers and bible readings.

Buying a Mothering Sunday gift in memory of a mother or grandmother raises much needed cash for areas around the world where the Mothers’ Union is active.

  • £4 can Shine a Light and buy clean water, food and shelter via the Mothers’ Union Relief Fund. In 2012, South Sudan had floods which led to massive loss of homes and crops. Mothers’ Union members on the ground are able to identify those worse affected
  •  £15 can help someone learn to write their name with the Mothers’ Union Worldwide literacy programme
  •  £19 can go towards training parenting facilitators in the UK and worldwide and help bring families together
  •  £100  can help to train people in prenatal and post natal care and lower the maternal mortality rate in countries such as Zambia
