Seeking a second Volunteer!

We need two volunteers to help parishes keep their listings up to date. The Researcher will check which parishes are not up-to-date; the Champion will offer assistance to parishes and garner feedback. Each role is four hours per week. The new version of A Church Near You

The popular website now has the facility for parishes to create their own free, bespoke websites. 

1000s of users have already provided thoughts on how the site could be improved to ensure that seekers easily find a local church, weekly and seasonal services, events, and useful information.

Tips for parish editors

1. Ensure the information listed about your church is correct. Simply find your page and log in: your existing username and password, have been carried over. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it.
2. Check your data for any mistakes. If you spot anything wrong that you can’t edit, report the issue by going to 'More information' and clicking the ‘Report an issue’ button.
3. There are new features: for events, services and facilities.
4. Add your services and events. If you have already done so, update yours with the new tags. There are instructions in the FAQs. You can even add events that take place in different locations.
5. Check your profile picture and cover photo. The profile picture you supplied for your church on the previous version has been moved over. If you did not previously have an image, we have used one supplied by Google Maps. You now have the option to upload a cover picture, which is a perfect opportunity to feature photos of your congregation. Try using a photo taken inside your church during a busy service, or a group photo.
6. If you have a question, please go to the FAQs page and follow the instructions.
7. The odd bug may have crept into the system, as with any new website. Do flag them!
