Confirmation

by Michael Ford last modified 05 Feb, 2020 03:52 PM

Being Confirmed is an enormously special, life-changing occasion and time in a person’s life and we want to encourage more people to walk and explore this road and continue their journey of transformational Christian faith for life.

We can offer advice about confirmation courses that will work best in your particular setting as well as lots of ideas about what works really well and thoughts about ‘doing’ confirmation differently.

During 2016-2018 we have spent time focusing specifically on Young People’s Confirmation (11-18s) with a view to improving the practice of Confirmation across the Diocese of Salisbury and encouraging more young people to consider Confirmation. The project (with full support of the Bishops) went extremely well with Confirmations increasing by 15%, particularly for younger people!

A lot of the research that has been done and advice given is now available in the resources section which you will find by clicking on the button shown above.

If you don’t have many young people in your congregation, our Young People’s Adviser, Lizzie Whitbread can advise and support you on this, so do please be in touch with her here.

Our Pinterest page has links to lots of the current resources for Confirmation courses and related materials – do have a look there too. If you wanted to look at the physical resources available, do please contact Emma Waters at the DBE Office in Wilton who will be able to arrange for you to visit the office and view them.
