Schools Causing Concern (SCC)
On occasion academies or schools have times of difficulty which impact on the achievement and wellbeing of the school community. The schools causing concern strategy is intended to enable the Board of Education to be pro-active in identifying and working alongside these academies or schools in order to prevent crisis and promote effective school improvement.
The 3 principles which underpin the schools causing concern policy are:
- The recognition that academies, multi-academy trusts and schools are autonomous and responsible for their own improvement
- The recognition that close partnership working, including school to school collaboration across and between each multi-academy trust, leads to effective improvement; demonstrating a collective responsibility for every child and young person
- The recognition that the Christian ethos supports a moral imperative for good outcomes for all children and young people, transforming their lives
SDBE will walk alongside schools in times of challenge, enabling and supporting. The process below explains this work in further detail.
