Seventeen Schools' Wishes Are Granted
Pupils at seventeen schools in the Diocese of Salisbury have received £3000 worth of new Christian books.
The lucky children are recipients of ‘Speaking Volumes’ grants, which allows schools to choose the books they would like from a list on the Speaking Volumes website.
The books are then supplied by a Christian bookshop of the school’s choice, which means the Sarum College Bookshop in Salisbury also benefits from the grant.
The Speaking Volumes charity exists for the advancement of the Christian religion and of the Christian injunctions by the issue of literature including books and the promotion of existing books.
Grants are made to schools and libraries of all types, including care homes, prisons, hospitals and hospices; anywhere that books can be borrowed.
Grants are made twice a year, spring and autumn. The next round of funding will accept applications between 15th February and 15th April, with Decisions made 2nd May.
See www.speakingvolumes.org.uk for further details and to apply in the next round. Don’t forget to put Sarum College Bookshop as the supplying bookshop!
