MAT Spotlight: DSAT week 2

by Emma Waters last modified 15 Jan, 2021 10:53 AM

As part of a new Social Media Campaign we are spotlighting one MAT per month - this month is DSAT

The Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust – the clue is in the name as our schools are spread right across the Diocese from Beaminster in West Dorset to Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire.  Our schools range from a small village school of just 50 children to a town school with around 400 pupils.  We have a combination of primary schools, one junior and four first schools, some situated in relatively affluent areas and others with high levels of deprivation with over half the school population eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant. Although we are all part of the same family, our Trust reflects the diversity of our Diocese and our communities and as such, we celebrate the uniqueness of every individual school and the ethos and values that make it distinctively Christian.

As church schools, we represent our vision, ethos and values in a way that is meaningful and understandable for the children.  This is called a Vision Vessel; it is a visual representation of what makes each school special and the journey they are on.  Our schools take amazing, creative approaches to involving everyone in the school community in creating this with each one reflecting what is unique about that individual school, its location and how it seeks to achieve its vision.  If you ask any member of our school communities about their Vision Vessel they will be able to explain it to you.

Here are some examples – can you match them to the Vision Statement for the school?
