How one of our schools used technology to engage with Diwali

Children and Staff were able to take part in the story of Diwali

At Rushall Primary School the staff and children have been discovering through RE and Collective worship the festival of Diwali, which is celebrated each year by Hindus. This year the school had to change how they would usually go about this and inventively used Zoom to facilitate.

Emma Miles, the RE lead from the school said:

"Across the school, we were lucky enough to participate in a yoga session as part of our Collective Worship today. We are very grateful to Jasmine Sodhi who led us through the story of Rama and Sita using postures and breathing exercises. Staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed the chance to stretch, relax and escape into the world of the Hindu tale.

Pupils also enjoyed a Zoom Worship with virtual visitors Sakhya and Kavita Prema who taught us about Diwali and why it is such a special time for people of the Hindu Faith."

It really is a joy to hear about how schools implement their RE and collective worship.
