Food for Thought
Food for Thought is a series of 30 thought-provoking cards that seeks to deliver nourishment to the soul in a bite-size format.
Each A5 card contains reflections upon most of life’s eventualities, touching on relevant issues that challenge our daily lives, offering ‘recipes for living’.
The cards are designed to meet the spiritual needs of pupils of all faiths and none.
Whilst they are particularly ideal for Secondary students in tutor or small groups, they are equally suitable for adult groups in any context. The cards have been designed so that they can be delivered easily by the students themselves. There is no particular order to be followed and each can be delivered with little or no preparation.
Derek Holloway and Debra Legge developed the cards after leading acts of worship, short talks and reflections in many schools and meetings over the years. They have been inspired by the many books, sermons and assemblies that Derek and Debra have enjoyed throughout their careers in Religious Education.
“The wide-ranging topics covered in this pack offer teenagers and young adults an opportunity to take time to reflect on and discuss a variety of human and personal issues... a sensitive approach to opening up some potentially great discussions between students and their teachers.” RE Today, July 2014
