by Michael Ford last modified 09 May, 2019 10:36 AM

Lyme Regis Church is to host the world premiere of an exciting new musical, thanks to support from the Aldhem Mission Fund.

A special gala performance of 'Go Goliath' by Nick Brown and Simon Ford will be performed at St Michael's Church in Lyme Regis on Saturday 29 June.

It is a new semi-staged musical work for a massed choir of children and adults joining together to sing, telling the Biblical story of David and Goliath.

The choir taking part will include St Michael's Children’s Choir, the Devon Youth Choir with their conductor Rachel Smith, church choirs from across the Golden Cap Team, members of Lyme Bay Chorale, and other adult choirs from around the area, as well as professional soloists and professional narrator Daniel Rudge (bass).

There will be a 'Come and Sing' event, with a rehearsal from 2-4pm on the day, followed by the actual performance at 5pm.

If you or anyone in your local choir would like to take part, please register by emailing Alex Davies, the organist and choirmaster at St Michael’s, at .

The event is being supported by the Aldhelm Mission Fund which supports initiatives in parishes, schools and the wider community throughout the Salisbury Diocese.
