Welcome, Wanted and Useful

by Michael Ford last modified 26 Mar, 2019 04:16 PM

How do you as a Church leader, youth worker or key volunteer offer the most effective support to those with mental health needs in your church?

A group of experienced Christian professionals and practising Christian counsellors will be offering their advice on perspectives on this, and other issues surrounding mental health, at the Church and Mental Wellbeing Conference being held in Bournemouth in May.

Joining keynote speakers Will Van Der Hart from the Mind and Soul Foundation and Mark Bailey, Lead Pastor of Encounter Church Winchcombe, will be experts from the Pilgrim's Friend Society and the Salvation Army and they will be covering topics such as depression, addiction, grief and loss and anxiety in young people.

A spokesman for the conference said:
"This conference wants to help those who attend to to find new and posiive ways to embrace those who live with mental health needs, enabling them to feel welcome, wanted and useful."

The conference is open to Church leaders, youth workers and key volunteers and takes place on 23 May at the Barrington Centre, Penny's Walk, Ferndown.

Bursaries may be available.
