Ahead of Anti-Slavery Day on Friday 18th October, the Salvation Army is asking people to support a digital campaign to raise awareness of modern slavery in the UK.

The Salvation Army has held the government contract to provide specialist support to adult victims of modern slavery in England and Wales for more than 7 years,supporting more than 8,000 victims in that time.

To raise awareness of he issue they have produced a #WeAreNotForSale temporary tattoo with the theme of a barcode, symbolising how slavery treats people as objects that can be bought, sold and exploited.

A spokesperson for the Salvation Army said:

"Victims are powerless, isolated and told there is no one who will help them – and the Salvation Army are working hard to change this."
