After the Christmas service at St Andrew’s Charmouth, Antoine Carrier, a visitor from France, mentioned that he was a singer and that he would like to try out the acoustics in the church.
The following day he went into church to practise.
Roger and Liz Sansom, who went into church on the off-chance, heard him and were so impressed with his voice, they arranged an impromptu performance for the following day with Jane Gibson on piano, Maria Beazley singing and Liz on violin.
In just 3 days, an informal musical event came about, and Antoine’s rich tenor voice brought the church alive!
