Unprecedented Challenges

75% of the Salisbury-based charity's homeless clients have underlying health issues and are extremely vulnerable to coronavirus.

This has caused them to be "working around the clock" to try and keep them safe.

They say they are getting rough sleepers into their homes where they can support them if they fall ill, making sure they have a safe home, food and medication.

At a time when the charity desperately needs money, they are facing an immediate loss of at least £100,000 as all fundraising events for the next 6 months have been postponed.

Chief Executive Andrew Lord said:

"Alabaré is currently supporting some 500 vulnerable and homeless people in Wiltshire, across the South West of England and Wales.

"The impact of coronavirus is that some of our staff members are self-isolating at home and therefore are not able to deliver that vital service.

"This is not something we have ever had to deal with before on this scale. My colleagues, both paid and volunteer staff members, have been absolutely wonderful, they are absolutely stepping up to the mark across the whole charity.

"It's so important that people are supporting us and other charities in these desperate times."

Andrew is calling on people to get involved as they are trying to raise £100,000 in order to not face the immediate losses.
