Uniting in 7 Days of Prayer

by Michael Ford last modified 06 Mar, 2021 02:01 AM

Our Mothers’ Union is preparing to celebrate Mothering Sunday on 14th March.

Diocesan President Rosie Stiven says:

"Over the last few weeks our members have received information and resources about how to celebrate Mothering Sunday through Prayer, activities and fund raising for our international projects.

"Monday 8th March is International Women’s Day and this marks the beginning of a week when Mothers’ Union comes together to pray for women and girls worldwide. The resources guide us through a week of Prayer culminating on Mothering Sunday, 14th March.

"Throughout the week we pray for women and access to education; women and poverty, women and gender-based violence, women and peace and reconciliation, women and economic empowerment, women and influence and finally, on Mothering Sunday, women of faith.

"At a time when we are unable to meet together, let us join together in prayer and virtual fellowship and celebrate the work of our wonderful, global organisation.

"As our Lord Jesus Christ respected, trusted and revered women, so we act and pray for women’s recognition, equality and empowerment throughout the world."
