"Today, we will do this at home"

by Michael Ford last modified 24 Apr, 2020 05:44 PM

Over in the Chalke Valley, parishioners got an open letter from their ministry team.

Catherine Blundell, David Blundell, Anthony Hawley, Roger Leake, Ann Philp, Kate Rosslyn Smith, Jenny Taylor and Anna-Claar Thomasson-Rosingh wrote:

"At this difficult time for all of us we cannot be with you to share in worship this Easter Day. However, as Christians, we have a message of sure and certain hope to proclaim and we can embrace this hope by participating in this simple act of worship.

"Usually, in church on Easter Day, we would sing “Christ is Risen! Christ has conquered! Now his life and glory fill you!”

"Today, we will do this at home; in our living room or dining room, our favourite chair or round the kitchen table. It does not matter where we are because this proclamation of the hope, which is ours through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, is not just for church, but for every part of our lives.

"Hope means, even apart from each other, we can still share in worship, pray for peace, and say with confidence, ‘Christ is risen, he is risen indeed.’"
