That's the message from St Mary's Church in Weymouth, who will make good use of the now outdated fashion item.

The recycled ties, along with unwanted jewellery are used by the church's 'Let's Make It' group to make new items such as glasses cases, bookmarks, key rings, bag charms and bracelets.

Turning them into wonderful gifts for the patients at Dorset County Hospital's radiotherapy department.

Over 60 people are treated over a 6-week course, where they need to attend the hospital every single day, and the crafrt group create some wonderful small gifts for each patient to bring a smile to their faces.

The sessions are held in St Mary's Church, Weymouth every Wednesday morning from 9.30am until 11.30am.
