"Well done for having Thriven!”

by ajack last modified 01 Dec, 2021 04:09 PM

Said Bishop Andrew, as he welcomed Ramsbury Thrive Cohort 1 to their last session. Bishop Andrew encouraged the teams to keep up the momentum, working together and making connections, with the help of God, to transform their communities in a myriad of different ways.

Pam MacNaughton, the CPAS facilitator, praised their hard work, commitment and creativity.

Teams representing Chalke Valley, Ludgershall and Tidworth, Oldbury and Wylye and Till Valley Benefices have been walking alongside each other over a two-year programme, sharing ideas and putting their learning into practice in their multi-parish benefices.

An exciting range of initiatives have sprung into life; from new worshipping communities and encouraging new leaders to outreach to families and older people, as well as using church buildings creatively to forge closer links with the community through hospitality.

Don’t worry, the last session doesn’t mean the end!

It’s just the next step on their Thrive journey. They leave equipped with the tools to continue to work collaboratively, finding ways to share God’s love in their communities and see growth in their teams and in their churches. And RFOs Rhona Floate (Wilts) and Claire Horton (Sarum) will be with them every step of the way!

The teams ended their time together by making a paper chain, expressing thanks to God for Thrive and all that they have learned and experienced. Here’s just a few of their favourite things!

  • For Rural Hope making this happen!
  • For growing confidence and leadership skills
  • For the way Thrive restored hope
  • For the interaction we have had with others
  • For the chance to think outside the box
