The Life and Influence of Nelson Mandela
On Tuesday 8th June at 7.00pm, homeless charity Alabaré will be hosting a fascinating online talk on Zoom by the Revd Colin Chambers, who was Chaplain to Nelson Mandela for eight years.
Colin is now an Alabaré Chaplain, helping to support veterans who have become homeless to rebuild their lives.
Colin will talk about Mandela, focussing particularly on forgiveness and reconciliation, including an introduction to apartheid, and after his talk there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
Tickets to join cost £15, and can be bought via www.alabare.co.uk. Details on how to join the Zoom webinar on the day will be sent to ticket holders a few days beforehand.
The evening, which is due to end by 8.30pm, should provide fascinating insights into Nelson Mandela and life on Robben Island.
Engagement Officer Helen Inglis says:
“This event was originally planned for March 2020 but was the first of many events which we had to postpone due to the Covid pandemic.
“We are delighted that Colin has agreed that, in order to avoid any further delays, we should now hold this talk online. Those who already hold tickets from last year will be able to access the event without doing any more!”
