Thank You Vicar

by Michael Ford last modified 16 Oct, 2019 10:54 AM

Being a vicar is much more than a job – it’s a calling and this week churches and schools are being given the chance to say "Thank You" to their Vicar.

Thank Your Vicar Week, which takes place between Sunday 13 – Sunday 20 October 2019, is your chance to celebrate everything your vicar does for your school and the community.

Clergy care for and nurture their parish 24/7 and are available to all, in times of great happiness and sadness. This often comes at a price to them and their families, with irregular hours and never truly being ‘off duty’.

When schools and parishes celebrate their clergy’s work with Thank Your Vicar Week, clergy says they are deeply touched and encouraged in their role.

This has a positive effect on their wellbeing and their ministry.

You can get free Thank Your Vicar Week resources from St Luke’s to help you host a special assembly, service or just a simple thank you, here.

St Luke's is the charity that improves clergy health and wellbeing.
