A plunge into ancestry and a step into stardom for Revd Canon Kelvin Inglis, Rector of St Thomas and St Edmund Salisbury, as he received an unexpected call from BBC1's Who Do You Think You Are?
It turned out that internet celebrity and one-time Strictly star Joe Sugg is descended from a previous incumbent of the parish. Speaking about the star-studded surprise, Revd Canon Kelvin Inglis, said: “Joe was great company, fully engaged and quite astonished at his family connections with the church. The programme works hard to deliver revelation upon revelation to its celebrities and it was hilarious watching Joe's reactions. The film crew were great too - as it was the current incumbent's 30th wedding anniversary, they presented them with a box of chocolates!”
