The Revd Jo Neary has spoken with BBC Radio Solent about some exciting projects in the Beaminster Area team. You can catch up here, at 2hr39. Jo shares more:
"We had a wonderful opportunity to share a little about some of our projects in the Beaminster Area Team with an interview on Radio Solent. It was such an encouraging chat on the radio and the whole process renewed my hope as it was a joy to talk to people who were interested in hearing good news.
We talked about two projects, one which flourished in lockdown and the other that emerged as restrictions were easing. Gin Church is an online gathering where we meet together for an hour, on Zoom, to chat, share a drink together, talk about the bible and pray for each other. The other is our new toddler and baby group, which began in May 2021 to allow parents and children to gather safely as soon as restrictions permitted. It has become a source of friendship, encouragement and socialising.
And what has renewed my hope? Mainly the amount of laughter, love and encouragement that is shared in both Gin church and toddler. Firm friendships have flourished and God's love and compassion is truly evident. And yesterday we baptised two children from our toddler group - a real blessing."
