Ride and Stride and Results
The results of this year's Ride and Stride are starting to come in and across both Wiltshire and Dorset people took to their feet, horses, bikes and even mobility scooters to raise money for their churches and their county's Historic Churches Trust.

Wiltshire's Ride and Stride was launched by the Lord-Lieutenant of Wilts, Mrs Sarah Troughton, at St Bartholomew's Church, Corsham and one of the stars of their year's Wiltshire effort was 98-year-old Colonel Michael Elcomb, who rode on his mobility scooter from his house to St. Mary's Church, Codford, and raised over £1000 in sponsorship.
The money raised is used to help conserve Dorset and Wiltshire’s churches, chapels and meeting houses and to help keep them active and at the heart of their communities for the use of future generations.
Half of the money raised is returned directly to the nominated local church and the other half is used to fund the Trust's grant programme.
The Ride and Stride is popular in both counties and even the clergy get involved.
The Revd Richard Curtis ran 15 miles around all his churches in the Cannings and Redhorn Team
in the Devizes Deanery.
Richard made sure he was noticed:
"I’ve a black running t-shirt with Reverend Richard Running Rector on the back!"
