Remembering... the Revd Canon Jane LLoyd

by Michael Ford last modified 17 Apr, 2021 12:06 AM

Jane was Chaplain at Poole hospital, a leading light in this Diocese, and an advisor of national standing.

On Monday 12th April, Bishop Karen said:

"I am emailing with the sad news that the Revd Canon Jane LLoyd died at home this morning. Jane died peacefully surrounded by her family. She will be missed by so many people, and has been a huge blessing as Chaplain at Poole hospital to both staff and patients alike, and as a trustee to the Lewis Manning Hospice.

"Her commitment to hospital chaplaincy has been immense and she used this experience as an advisor nationally as well as convenor of the healthcare chaplains across the Diocese. Please join me in praying for Nigel and her family at this time and giving thanks for her wonderful life and ministry which was so full of joy and faith. May she rest in peace and rise in glory."

There will be a private funeral at St Nicholas’ Corfe Mullen and a Memorial Service at St Mary’s Wimborne Road on Friday 25th June, led by the Bishop of Salisbury, with the Bishop of Sherborne preaching. All are welcome to this. Clergy will not be robing. Jane asked people not to wear black.
