LLM Ashley Jones

Westbury LLM (Licensed Lay Minister) Ashley Jones has organised a Scalextric event.

Ashley's wife Sharon explains:

"On Saturday 26th October, All Saints Church in Westbury held its second Scalextric afternoon in the church. Running from 2pm to 6pm we welcomed around 55 people through the doors. This was not intended as a fundraising event, but we wanted to cover the costs, so we asked for a small entry fee and refreshments were by donation.

"There were 7 tracks laid out around the church including a 30ft drag race which proved very popular. We had catered for all types of Scalextric: Mico, Analogue and Digital. People could bring their own cars or race ours.

"The church had such a great atmosphere all afternoon. It was buzzing with chatting and laughter. Youngsters and adults of all ages came along. Some had visited the first session which we held in July; for others it was their first event.

"We had good comments and families appreciated having something inexpensive to do on a rainy Autumn afternoon and other adults enjoyed recapturing their youth!"
