Racial Justice Sunday is taking place 13 February, and we are all invited to take part. Justice is for everybody, and where there is injustice, it is our responsibility to fight for it – as it reflects God's heart for his people. Find out how be involved...
Racial Justice Sunday is an opportunity for churches to reflect on why racial justice is important, and make a commitment to seeing that justice is done. It is also a celebration of the vibrancy and diversity of God's people.
To facilitate Racial Justice Sunday in your church, "Racial Justice: What's it Got to Do With Me?" has been produced by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, and is available for free. You can use the material to focus on racial justice in your services.
Additionally, The Church of England have produced liturgical resources, explaining that:
"Liturgical resources cannot resolve and eradicate the sin of racism. But liturgy has the power to form and shape our values and attitudes and how we live our faith in every moment. As Archbishop Desmond Tutu reflected, “As much as the world has an instinct for evil and is a breeding ground for genocide, holocaust, slavery, racism, war, oppression, and injustice, the world has an even greater instinct for goodness, rebirth, mercy, beauty, truth, freedom and love.” As we move in our worship from lament to action, from repentance to healing, may we be agents of God’s goodness, rebirth, mercy, beauty, truth, freedom and love in our broken and hurting world. "
