Pre-Lambeth hosts thanked as they stand down for this year

Bishop Andrew has written to all those who had registered as potential hosts to our visiting Sudanese and South Sudanese Bishops, thanking them but explaining that with Lambeth 2020 postponed the Bishops will not be visiting this year.

In his Letter Bishop Andrew said:

"You may have already heard that the Archbishop of Canterbury has decided, in the light of the coronavirus pandemic, to postpone the Lambeth Conference until 2021.

"This will mean, of course, that we will not now be able to host the bishops from Sudan and South Sudan in July. This is a great disappointment to us and, I’m sure, to you, but we hope and expect to be able to make similar arrangements in advance of the rescheduled Conference next year. At present we don’t have the new dates."

The Bishop said he hoped hosts would still have their time and accommodation available next year.

The Deaneries who were hosting Bishops for part of their stay have also been contacted.
