Pancakes and a Pause for Ukraine
St Giles' Wishford have cleverly used Shrove Tuesday and pancakes as an opportunity to raise money for Ukraine.
On a wet Shrove Tuesday afternoon, the team at St Giles’ Great Wishford, swung into action. First a series of pancake races were keenly contested at Great Wishford Primary School, and then children and parents joined the team in church after school for even more pancakes.
The "Pause for Pancakes" Team did really well. In the two or so hours they were open, they served around 150 pancakes and raised £242.15 for Ukraine. It was heartening to see a wide mix of folk all wanting to donate, including two walkers who probably could not believe their luck, finding the Church open and serving Cointreau and sugar pancakes!
