No last orders for the local Church Pub

by Michael Ford last modified 05 Feb, 2019 08:33 PM

After the success of a makeshift pub over Christmas, the Church of St Boniface is set to serve punters again.

The team at the church decided to step in to provide a community facility called “The Room in the INN” while the local pub opposite the Horse and Groom is closed.

The Revd Nicky Davies, Associate Priest in the Avon Valley Partnership, with particular oversight of Hale, Woodgreen and Breamore Churches, said:
"I am delighted that St Boniface Church in Woodgreen is able to offer the pop-up pub again for our community. We had a wonderful time throughout the Christmas season and are looking forward to gathering together to raise a glass during February."

The team say 'the Room at the Inn' has had support from 'the fantastic village shop and local breweries'.

The 'pub' will re-open from this Friday (1 February) and then serve on Friday evenings and Saturday lunchtimes.
