New Senior Chaplain joins Alabaré
Alabaré are delighted to announce that the Revd Gill Turner-Callis has joined the charity as full-time Senior Chaplain.
Gill has most recently worked as a parish priest for four churches in Derby Diocese but she has lived all over the UK, from Luton to Aberdeen.
Gill grew up a Baptist but felt called to Anglican ordination when she was a student. She says that she ‘has never had a proper job’! Gill is married to Jon and they have a Rottweiler called Rolo, who she says is a real softie. Her interests are scuba diving, open water swimming, yoga and singing.
“Having been a parish priest for 15 years I have increasingly felt called to chaplaincy, and working for Alabaré felt like a really exciting opportunity. I am looking forward to working with our volunteer chaplains and to embedding spirituality in all its fullness across the organisation. I am also excited to have the chance to get to know the people of Salisbury Diocese and would welcome invitations to meet and to talk about Alabaré’s work with the homeless and the marginalised in our society, such as those struggling with poor mental health, those with additional learning needs and those who find themselves homeless.” To read more about the vital work of Alabaré, visit https://www.alabare.co.uk/ and to get in touch with Gill, her email address is g.turner-callis@alabare.co.uk
