New Chaplain at Milton Abbey

by Michael Ford last modified 15 Jan, 2020 01:48 PM

The Reverend Stephen Graham has been licensed as the new Chaplain of Milton Abbey School at an intimate service in the chancel of the Abbey Church.

The Head, the Chair of Governors and the pupil heads of school presented Stephen to Bishop Karen, in the presence of other staff, governors, pupils, local clergy and friends who had come to support.

The school’s Visitor, the Reverend Charles Mitchell-Innes, was in attendance on the 30th anniversary of his own appointment as chaplain to Milton Abbey. A sumptuous tea was enjoyed by all in the King’s Room of the house after the service.

Stephen comes to Dorset from the Diocese of Norwich where he served his title after training for the ministry at Oxford.

Before that, he was a schoolmaster at Norwich School, Radley College and Beeston Hall and looks forward to pursuing his vocation in the familiar environment of a boarding school, where he hopes to be ever mindful of Bishop Karen’s injunction to 'shine a light into every corner'.
