New appointment for Sarum Centre
Sarum Centre Formation Ministry, an organisation that creates a pathway for those training for Licensed Lay Ministry in Salisbury Diocese, have appointed a new Tutor and Lecturer, Dr Jessia Scott.
Dr Scott is currently a Research Associate at the Margaret Beaufort Institute in Cambridge. Alongside this, she has been heavily involved in social action and community engagement projects in London.
In her new role as a Tutor and Lecturer at Sarum Centre Formation Ministry, Dr Scott will teach across the curriculum of the Centre for Formation in Ministry at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to share in the organisation of the different pathways and in the support and reporting for students.
The Revd Canon Professor James Woodward, Principal of Sarum College said:
“Jessica Scott brings into this post a wealth of academic experience and achievement alongside engagement in community and social action,”
“The ministry team looks forward to working with her and learning from her. We stand at a critical time in the life of the Church and its mission and ministry through our new generation of ordinands and candidates for authorised lay ministry.
I am delighted to be joining the community at Sarum College and count it as a privilege to be involved in the teaching that takes place here,” Dr Scott says. “Sarum’s purposeful, creative, and interdisciplinary approach to theology is hugely attractive.”
Dr Scott will be in post on 1 December 2021 and we wish her the best of luck in her new role.
