Music on a Sunday afternoon
The unseasonal weather didn't stop Dorset music enthusiasts enjoying a musical afternoon in aid of All Saints Church, Hilton and Stour Connect.
Over 100 people gathered on the grey Sunday afternoon to listen to music performed by talented young (and not so young) people from the area to raise money for both the church near Milton Abbey and the Sturminster Newton based charity bringing day care to older people, adults with physical or learning disabilities and respite for their careers.
Alison Musgrave from the church said:
"To welcome our new grand piano we enjoyed boogie woogie, jazz, pop, classical, vocal - a glorious range of music. This was followed by tea and an array of delicious cakes.
"We raised an extraordinary £1000 and filled the church in a way only normally seen at weddings!
"The enthusiasm, joy and goodwill this event generated encourages us to run more musical Sunday afternoons."
