Meeting again at the Village Pump

by Michael Ford last modified 14 May, 2021 07:56 PM

A new informal monthly meeting is an opportunity for rural clergy and laity to meet to share ideas and concerns about rural life, the church and its outreach, hosted by the Rural Field Officer for Dorset, Canon Richard Hancock.

The Village Pump meets on the first Saturday of every month, on Zoom.

Richard says:

"Following last month’s successful gathering at The Village Pump, we will be meeting again.

"This month, we will share ideas of how to develop new worship initiatives that may appeal to a wider group of people in our villages, including café church, family church, messy church, one-off services such as Father’s Day, and more traditional special Evensongs.

"We will also share ideas of how to broaden our fundraising to a wider group of people, as all our churches have suffered a large drop in income as a result of Covid."

The next such rural gathering takes place on Saturday 5th June.

Richard adds:

"If you can’t stay for the whole time, just join us when and for however long you can."

The session runs from 9.00am to 10.30am.
