Make Space
A former mental health nurse who is now a Weymouth priest has stressed how important wellbeing will be in the weeks ahead.
The Revd Jo Haine, from Emmanuel and St Mary’s has been emailing reflections to her congregation that are re-posted on social media.
Jo said:
"If you are anything like me and our household, the reality of what is going on is starting to sink in. Routines are disrupted, the things we see as normal are no longer there and it can so easily leave a void.
"What we are doing is to protect our physical health but we are more than just creatures of physical health.
"When I trained as a mental health nurse many years ago, the first thing I was taught was the model of holistic care. In order to fully be well, we need to attend to our physical, psychological, social and spiritual wellbeing.
"As you isolate to protect your physical health, please think about how you can look after the other aspects of your wellbeing.
"Make space to do this every day just as you might make space to physically exercise, take some time to stay connected with others, make a new routine for your day and week, find things that will bring you joy, make space for God.
"Remember that we are more than just our physical form."
