Make COP26 Count!

by Michael Ford last modified 28 May, 2021 07:46 PM

Our Diocesan Environment Group has been sharing six campaign actions that individuals, church schools, church communities and the wider community can do in the run up to the COP-26 Climate Change talks in November this year.

The six actions include four to change ourselves:

  • Climate Sunday
  • The 'Count Us In’ campaign
  • The Prayer Chain campaign
  • The Cornwall to Glasgow Relay-COP26 Pilgrimage

And four to change our leaders:

  • Signing the Climate Coalition Declaration as individuals and churches
  • The Postcard Campaign to call on our Prime Minister to take action.

There is a PowerPoint giving more details and web links, which can be found at https://bit.ly/COP26-6ACTIONS.

Group member Revd Mike Perry says:

"I want to raise in particular the YCCN* Relay-COP26 Pilgrimage from Cornwall to Glasgow which will be coming through the Diocese 19th-23rd July and will be in Salisbury on 22nd July.

"It is still 'watch this space' but we are hoping people will walk with the walkers, help plan routes, offer hospitality, and cheer along on 22nd July."
