Local vicar celebrated in blooming style

by Michael Ford last modified 23 Feb, 2022 04:34 PM

The Revd Sarah Hillman was delighted to receive the support of the community recently, as she was voted to receive a special award.

It’s all too easy to forget that church life is so much more than bums on seats. The Revd Sarah Hillman, Vicar of Puddletown, Tolpuddle and Milborne with Dewlish, was generously reminded of the more hidden effects of incarnational ministry this month. Puddletown village Facebook page asked for nominations for two people to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers, to be gifted by Katie Priestley, owner of the Dorset Flower Company.

There were lots of nominations for different people but the clear winners were Sarah and the head of the village pre-school Sharon Brown. Sarah wrote in response: “I didn’t know about the flower vote until I received a message from Katie Priestley today to ask if she could deliver them this morning. Just wanted to say I’m humbled to have been nominated and very grateful. Thank you.” Both winners were chosen because of their contributions to the village community over the past two years.
