Keep Calm and Christingle
The snow didn’t stop the celebrating of 50 years of Christingle at Corsley and Chapmanslade, part of the Cley Hill Parishes - just put it back a week.
PCC Secretary Phil Jefferson said:
“We have been celebrating Christingle and Candlemas together, at the time of Candlemas itself. Sadly, because of the snow we had to postpone our special service to celebrate the 50th birthday of Christingle, but rather than cancel the service altogether we decided to postpone it for a week.
“Children and adults together spent a busy half an hour making our Christingles and this was followed by a short service which included a dramatised version of Christ's presentation at the Temple.
“St Philip and St James' church was filled with lighted candles as we ended the service and then we celebrated further by sharing the wonderful Christingle cake made by Sue, one of our parishioners.”
