"It won't be the same without you!"
Preparations are well underway for 'Thy Kingdom Come' celebrations in the Diocese, and both the Bishop and the Service's main speaker have gone on film to invite parishes to the event.
Bishop Nicholas has spoken in a video about the event on Pentecost Sunday at Salisbury Cathedral to mark the culmination of the eleven days of prayer for evangelism.
While the speaker at the Cathedral on 9 June, Rachel Jordan-Wolf has issued a personal video invitation to the service, which is open to all Christians in the Diocese.
In her invitation Rachel, who is the National Mission and Evangelism Advisor to the Church of England says:
"I'm so looking forward to being with you all this Pentecost Sunday in Salisbury Cathedral.
"What an amazing venue to bring all our prayers together that we've prayed from Ascension to Pentecost - praying for our friends and our family who don't yet know Jesus to come to know Him for themselves.
"Come and join in, it will be the finale of all of those prayers, a great crescendo on Pentecost Sunday as we wait on God, as He commissions us to be sent out to actually join Him in answering those prayers. I can't wait for it!"

In his video, Bishop Nicholas said:
"It’s such a good initiative, isn't it? To come to pray between Ascension Day and Pentecost, "Thy Kingdom Come, on Earth as in Heaven". It’s sort of what Jesus was asking the disciples to do - to go back into the city and to pray and to wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
"So it's a great call to the Church across the world, it's part of our unity and purpose, and we'll do that across the Diocese of Salisbury. But come to Salisbury Cathedral on the evening of Pentecost, 7 o'clock, for what will be a big celebration and a great event.”
In a previous letter of invitation, Bishop Nicholas invited churches throughout the Diocese to join together to "worship and pray for our friends, families, churches, communities and world, particularly our nation."
This year alongside the main event there will be a special prayer and worship event for young people aged 11-18 within the Cathedral Close at Bishop Wordsworth’s School.
