"It means the world to us"
Sophie and Peter should have been getting married last weekend at St James Church in Poole, but the coronavirus lockdown meant they had to postpone their nuptials until 2021.
But on the day they were supposed to get married, the couple couldn't resist using their daily recommended exercise to take a walk down to the church.
Imagine their surprise when on arriving they found a ‘blessing for waiting’ taped to the door and a candle left to be lit by the couple.
The Revd Lewis Pearson explains:
"As I’d heard they were planning on going there I got down there early and wrote a ‘blessing for waiting’ and taped it to the door and left a candle to be lit as Sophie and Peter await their wedding day.
"I also offered prayers for them and for all couples who have postponed weddings."
Sophie and Peter were so delighted with the gifts they posted a picture of themselves outside the church on social media saying:
"Thank you so much for our blessing and candle. It means the world to us!"
We add our prayers to Lewis'.
