Iona Retreats
Although its residential centres remain closed for refurbishment, the Iona Community will be running an Autumn residential programme based at a local hotel.
The programme, at the St Columba Hotel on Iona, includes retreats that offer the chance to pause and take stock of life – 'to gather in what is ripe, to clear the ground and prepare for what lies ahead.'
The events will be led by poet and award-winning translator of Rilke and Meister Eckhart, Mark Burrows; long-time Wild Goose Resource Member Jo Love; and art historian and popular speaker Debbie Lewer, who also led the Easter 2018 retreat.
Dates are as follows:
18 – 23 October:
Ripening in Wisdom: Elder Poets as Sages of the Harvest of Life
Mark Burrows, Protestant University of Applied Sciences, Bochum
23 – 28 October:
Kicking Leaves and Kindling Fires
Jo Love, Wild Goose Resource Group
28 Oct – 2 Nov:
Lightening the Dark, Darkening the Light: Exploring the Shadows of Art and Faith
Debbie Lewer, University of Glasgow
