The refugees come to Dorset via the Syrian Vulnerable Persons' Resettlement Scheme having fled conflict or refugee camps. They have been identified by the UN as being in need, and are screened by the Home Office.

Properties need to be 2 or 3 bedroomed flats/ houses, have their own front door, and be close to public transport, schools, shops, and facilities. There are several benefits:
- Tenants are supported by the Council for 5 years
- Rent is paid to secure a property in advance while a family is being matched
- Reliable tenants with long term residence granted in the UK
- The Council arranges tenancy agreements, right to rent checks, inventories and furnishings
- You will help provide a new life for some wonderful families
