Hanging up his Headphones
For over 17 years, the Revd Tim Daykin has been celebrating faith across the South as the producer and presenter of BBC Radio Solent’s Sunday Breakfast Programme.
Now, he says simply: "The time has come to hang up my headphones."
Tim’s last programme will be on Sunday 28 June.
Over the summer he will continue to record a programme of traditional hymns to be broadcast between 6.00 and 7.00 am on Sundays on BBC Radio Solent.
Tim says: "I have always regarded my stewardship of Sunday Breakfast on BBC Radio Solent as a privilege and a great responsibility. I know the programme means a huge amount to our listeners, many of who regard it as their ‘church’. I have made many friends both amongst my colleagues as well as in the faith communities, and especially treasure those from faiths other than my own.”
Tim was made a Canon of Salisbury Cathedral last year and has now joined the Chapter. Tim is also an member of the Diocesan Communications Advisory Group.
