Grants to help you connect
The new funding opportunity from the Allchurches Trust, which wants to help churches connect with their communities, launches on 20 May 2019.
The Trust says, "'Growing Lives' will make up to £1 million available in grants and its aim is to support churches and Christian organisations to connect with children and young people and families in their communities."
The Allchurches Trust provides funding for the repair, restoration and re-ordering of churches and cathedrals of all denominations, especially where these changes are aimed at encouraging wider community use and helping those in need.
The Trust also supports churches and charities addressing homelessness, poverty and loneliness, along with many other social issues. And offer Trust funding to schools, colleges and others who nurture young people and help them to reach their potential.
The Allchurches Trust is an independent charity regulated by the Charity Commission and its funds come from ownership of the Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, a specialist insurance and financial services company.
Since being founded in 1972, the Trust has given grants exceeding a total of £171 million.
A spokesperson said:
"Our values are rooted in our Christian heritage. We pay particular regard in our grant-making to the needs of those who are disadvantaged, for whatever reason.
"Our aim over the years ahead is steadily to increase both the amount we give and the range of good causes we give to."
